In this work, “But We Knew It Was Here”, I intend to highlight the personal versus the political in recounting the memory of this once filled space, in contrast to its now vacancy. Despite the lack of documentation, through the art of story telling, here is a recollection between my self and my father as evidence of the existence, along side a conversation with a Detroit city official of finding documentation of 16127 Fielding.
